I have used the mulch layer available from Earth Tools and it is a neat trick. The layer does require some set up time but I put down 20 rows 60' each. A row took only 5 minutes but turn around time and reset up added about another 5 minitues. Did not use the drip tape attachment but will next year.

Just curious, did you buy the 2' or 3' wide mulch layer? What type of walk behind tractor do you have? Any pictures you can share?

I am strongly considering buying or building a mulch layer for next year's garden.

I have a 853 with the diesel and 3' mulch layer. The 3' gives about 24" of planting space and 6" buried on each side. I first tilled the beds and then made raised bed with the rotary plow. Later I laid some mulch without making a raised bed. The rows w/o raised beds are ok but I am worried about heavy rain and washing out the mulch area. I will try and get some pics first chance.

The 2' layer may work if you don't need much planting space or if you have a smaller tractor.
