My bcs 852 sometimes grinds when I put it in gear, switch between reverse to forward and reverse and vice-versa, or engage the PTO. It doesn't do this all the time. At first I thought it was the clutch needing adjustment, but I tightened the cable way more that it should be to see if that was the cause, but that did eliminate the grinding, which leads me to believe it is not the clutch adjustment. Any thoughts appreciated. Thanks

Sounds like the reverse lever cable needs adjusting. Joel from earthtools has a video on YouTube that shows how to adjust the reverse lever cable.

I don't have a bunch of experience myself with BCS tractors. I just replaced my reverse cable myself after it broke on my 850. I've had a few issues but I just keep trying to plug away at it. Trial and error. Just my 2 cents.

Good luck.
