BCS America's website is now showing the BCS 660 Hydrostatic tractor as available in the US. BCS America This is a front PTO only unit designed for mowing on steep slopes. It has hydrostatic drive and individual clutch-brake units on each wheel. These units provide better steering when working on steep slopes than a differential with wheel brakes. Engine is a 16 HP Vanguard two cylinder unit. Price without wheels or attachments is $8500. While the hydrostatic transmission and clutch-brake units of the BCS 660 would be nicer for mowing than our BCS 749 unit we won't be getting one anytime soon.

I don't understand why they bothered with putting a clutch in the machine. I have several pieces of hydrostatic equipment, including a two-speed Hesston 6650 swather and a four-speed Gleaner M2 combine, that have multiple gears added to a hydrostatic transmission with no clutch. To shift gears, you simply bring the hydro to neutral and shift from one gear to the next. Seems they added unnecessary complication and cost to the machine. The true live PTO would be a huge bonus, though.
