Oil & Fuel Battery Tender Success Story?

/ Battery Tender Success Story? #101
I stay away from ALL of the cheap chargers!
Possible battery life extension is not worth the risk of burning down your building!
Buy a quality charger, or don't buy any!

First thing is I would not ever leave a battery tender of any brand plugged in full time. I have several and they have extended the life of my batteries considerably but I plug them into timers so they are on for only 30 minutes a couple of times a day. The batteries stay fully charged, no worries of the charger getting a fault and cooking a battery, which they have been known to do (even the "good" ones). Plus it is just a tiny bit less electricity I have to pay for.

I am a firm believer in using them, the beneficial impact they have on battery life and have them on EVERY vehicle on the place.

That is an interesting practice and I might do that. Got lots of old mechanical timers that I could employ. Can't hurt...

I've been doing that for years for the ones on my two cars. Both are plugged into one timer.

The one in the shed is on full time though.

Maintain is what they do best.
I have had 4 of them running for several years nonstop.

Just asking, does anyone use the harbor freight ones.
I have a couple and use them for the winter with no problems.

I do, but like others, I put them on a timer so they only run an hour a day - at least in the past. I've upgraded to real Battery Tenders but continue using a timer.
