Battery Maintainer and De-Sulfator

My tractor battery has a parasitic drain that I can't find, so small it does not spark. If I get a battery maintainer and de-sulfator, will the de-sulfator work with the drain? I'll get one big enough to overcome the parasitic drain.

Why not install a knife switch cut out on the negative terminal and break the circuit when you aren't using it. That way the drain, won't drain anymore. SPO with me on all my tactors.

Bill, not sure how long it takes to drain the battery but a lot of times a small drain like that is caused by a diode in the alternator. Try disconnecting the cable from it and see if the drain goes away..........Don

To answer your question,any charger/maintainer above 1 amp will more than make up for drain and desulfate as usual,,,,,IF indeed the drain is too small to cause a spark.

7030 Kubota and I have installed a knife switch on the neg terminal but I have to leave the radiator screen off to get to it. Wanted to install a remote maintainer and worried the de-sulfate wouldn't work. Jaxs answered my question. Thanks. Only use the tractor a couple of times a month and I can't locate the drain, I feel it might be just insulation off a wire.

Your kids! I will be 83 in June. I've quit making excuses. Just happy to be able to get on and off my tractors. Don't fall much but stagger a lot! Even the grandkids roll their eyes!
