Needs a battery, what should I look for? Prob. Auto Parts store, or Sears.

I never had to replace the battery on my MF 1250 so I can't help you there. 1260s have a turbo on the left side of the engine. The MF 1250 and MF 1260 look almost exactly alike. If it is a 1240 it won't have a sprung seat. The tag (sticker) under the front of the seat (vertical panel) tells the model.

It don't matter if its a 1240 or 60. Go to any auto parts store and tell them you want a 600CCA battery service class 80D26R. It should be around 10" long x 6.5" wide x 8" Tall.

I have a 1240 and got my new battery at Walmart, its a standard automotive size. The front grill also swings out for access. Thats a good little tractor.
