my battery didn't even come close to lasting a year. sure warranty will cover it but it will be prorated from full retail price. plus it is over an hour one way to my dealer. my last tank of diesel was 4.54 per gallon. i think i will just go to a closer town, 15 minute drive, and get a battery from autozone. should be cheaper than dealing with the warranty.

oh well........:(

You should be able to take it to the dealer you purchased it from and swap it out for a new one at no expense to you.

Normally we try and schedule a time when the customer can bring the battery in and the battery company (Exide or whoever it may be) can come by the same day so the customer isn't left without a battery for any extended period of time. It's just that when the battery company comes by to bring a new battery we must have the old one to swap out.

Not sure where you are located but let me know if I can be of any help or if you have any more questions.

I believe that the Battery is one of the 3 items that Mahindra won't directly warranty.

1) Tires

2) Injector pump

3) Battery

I'm going thru this with tires right now.

It might be easier if you go to a local place that deals in that brand battery and get it warrantied..

Just a thought.

When I know I will not be cranking up the Big RED Beast for over a week, I plug in a trickle charger. Also, the dual batteries in my Dodge Ram 2500 are OEM and are going on over 6 years now, with no trickle charging. With over 200,000 miles, I just pour a coca-cola on all four battery posts once a month, then rinse it all down with water.

The battery on the 6000 died at the beginning of the third or fourth year and I replaced it with a Napa battery for about $40. I couldn't drive to the dealer and back now for $40!

thanks for the responses. i'm still jumping it off right now. it is so far to the dealer and diesel is so high :( i'm gonna take the advice of finding a battery dealer nearer to me and see if they will work the warranty with me.

interesting about the coke. didn't know to do that. my negative terminal has a buildup problem.

MississippiMan,
Baking Soda, followed by water will do the same thing.:) It just melts the corrosion off of the terminals. I always have Coca-cola around because I am a big Coke drinker!:D

Strikes me the Coke fizz may be a bonus cuz it stirs things up a bit automatically! Have you gotten any word on your missing loader subframe?

Larry,
I forgot all about it, as I have had numerous family problems. But I sent an email today asking about my subframe components. This link will explain what all family problems I have been facing.........why I have been quiet - Net Tractor Talk
