Europe has had wars with Russia for many hundreds of years, so the attack on Ukraine makes a big difference. The EU does not have any army but probably we might see a move to get atomic weapons to hold the peace.

I pray we never see another conflict in Europe. The only ones who "win" are the MIC (Military Industrial Complex) and others who profit from war.

Let's go back to the ICE death spiral as that is something we can agree on...LOL

Europe has had wars with it’s self in general. It’s not Russia specific. You should know that. Forgot Germany invading Russia, Poland? Austria, France?
Forgot Italy invading?

Most forget or don’t know, Ukraine was a Soviet Union country. It has a large Russian population…..

If someone is wealthy, they do not need the tax credit. But I do not support EV tax credits for anyone. I abhor government overreach and interference when it is not for the "common good" and even for the "common good" it can be abused to push agendas.
Please explain why "If someone is wealthy, they do not need the tax credit."
They're wealthy because of hard work and
they pay more taxes. Incentive is destroyed and the "wealthy" get punished. So dining out with a doctor he/she should pick up the tab since they make more money than you.
Again...that's anti-capitalism, a socialist/communist idea.
That ALONE should make people despise EVs...except of course the one's getting the free lunch paid for by undeserving "wealthy".

France isn't going to war, they're making weapons for Ukraine. I never heard of the pasta wars, wouldn't that be Italy? I wonder if they're making EV tanks
"Put the war on hiatus! Our tanks will be ready to continue after a Taylor Swift movie!"

The military industrial complex gets all the best stuff.
When I see them adopting battery powered M1 Abrams tanks, and battery powered “strategic “ bombers, and battery powered fighter jets, then I’ll buy a battery car

It is unlikely to be a total power outage. If it is, you and yours are dead in days or weeks unless you have an armed force.

Think about power outages caused by storms. People have no power for anywhere from 1-14 days. Multiply that if major parts of the grid go down. I have a whole house generator and two 500 gal tanks of propane. I will not waste it charging an EV. I can go 30-60 days.

During every power outage I have been through, I was always able to get fuel somewhere. When your power is out, you are toast.

BTW, not many folks have solar set ups so that will only work for a few people.

Few people also store extra propane tanks just for power generation. It would be easier for me to setup the solar system with battery that it would propane....just beacuse I know how to do it.

If you are prepping...you know that worst case is what you shoot for. I dont consider a setup for a temporary power outage to be prepping...thats just smart planning. I have 22 kW of battery backup, and I can charge those with 2 small dual fuel generators or the 8kW solar array. To me up in the mountains this is a necessity. That said I would also not use my power for EV charging either. in a temp scenario.

But grid down...thats a whole different ballgame. If you want to know which vehicle/fuel setup would be best..I woudl say if you had the money then a 20kW solar array and an EV would keep you going the longest. But water and food might be a more imminent challenge!

I don't think there should be an income limit. If you are successful and built your wealth why should you be penalized?
It's the American way... downplay or punish success...

German town votes against Tesla plans to expand ‘gigafactory’

The residents of a small German town where Elon Musk has built a Tesla factory has thrown a spanner in the works by rejecting plans to expand the complex.

The majority of residents of Grünheide in Brandenburg, an hour’s drive south-east of Berlin, voted against proposals to build new infrastructure intended to improve access to the site and allow easier transport of the finished vehicles, including a freight depot and warehouses.
The same happened in Fremont CA to the Toyota plant when it submitted plans for expansion on land it held.

When approval denied and also citing a family if burrowing owls that was enough for Toyota to focus on a new facility in Texas and leave California...

Tesla picked up the plant for a reasonable price and the next chapter began until Elon got tired if California and looked to Texas...
