What I find interesting is the hate so may have towards new solution.

A advert for this quit expensive 3hp outboard had a endless list all kinds of hate and a endless list if ridiculous scenarios where this was not the optimal scenario. What are people so afraid of? It's just a motor.

My 1974 Chev pickup with the 6-cylinder 250 caught on fire twice, both times a carburetor fire that I was able to put out. It turns out gasoline is flammable. Who knew?

This. Over 175,000 cars catch fire and burn to the ground each year but nobody is concerned. Natural gas leaks regularly blow entire houses off their foundation but nobody cares. Gasoline fumes are the direct cause of over 20,000 house fires a year but people never think twice about storing and transporting it. But a handful of EVs or batteries catch fire and everyone clutches their pearls in horror, too frightened to get anywhere near them.

US automakers don't understand Europe, Ford with Volvo, Jag and Land Rover and GM with Saab and now sold Opel, they reduced Opel from a thriving brand head to head with VW to something few wanted to buy, GM lost a lot of money, Stellantis that bought Opel made god mony afte a year. Small cars with premium feel are not GMs strength. Ford struggle to return to the golden years from the past, so will see if the follow GM and leaves Europe.

And most Japanese brands struggle with Europe, Honda and Mitsubishi are on the brink of giving up, Nissan struggles hard, Toyota and Stellantis gave a close partnership so they will most likely stay. If the partnership Nissan has with Renault become more difficulty then it's bye bye I think for Nissan.

Yes, people in the rest of the world see Sweden even if it says made in China, Volvo's arriving bye freight train from China to Europe and Sweden, I do think it hurts the national Swedish self esteem knowing that.

Our 2006 Ford Five hundred (1st gen S-80 chassis) was an awesome vehicle. I gave it to our tractor mechanic and he loves it.

So fare the Chinese owners of Volvo seems to know that they have very little to offer beside capital and access to China. Volvo can produce cars that are Scandinavian in feel, and appearance. To bad GM destroyd Saab, it was a quite unique brand, Stellantis could have made something with a quirky brand as they own Citroen and Citroen are a quirky brand. GM never understood how to develop a brand, all was about making it so standard as possible.
