Hey guys.A stupid question.What brand of battery would you recommend for a 50 horse John Deere.

I would like to know the same thing for a 5 yr old F-150

I recommend Optima batteries,New Holland tractors,Budwiser beer,Exxon gasoline,Smucker's jelly,Chevrolet trucks and cars.

If you are wanting to go with an AGM(absorbent glass mat) battery - I would recommend Odyssey over Optima. Heard some bad stories, lately, about Optima.

I have a group 31 Odyssey with 1150 CCA in the tractor. This will only be its third winter - so I can't tell you about longevity. However - with 1150 cold crank amps - the starter motor spins like a jet turbine engine.

I also keep a Deltran - Battery Tender Plus on the battery, year round.

Nix the Optima, and the Budweiser.
The Optima is not worth the extra money, and the Budweiser is hardly worth any money!.
