An update on bat in my daughters house. Talked with Pa health department; if bat found flying in bedroom while anyone sleeping they recomend rabies shots. Bat bites are hard to find sometime. A sleeping baby would never know if bitten and bite might not be found. A few people die from rabies each year in U.S. If one is in house catch it and have it tested. Pa health department does test no charge.
Bottom line, in my daughters case, the whole family is at emergency room getting their first rabies shot. They are in a series of 5, I believe. They say shots are not so bad, like in the old days. Like health department person said, rabies is rare, but if one get it; there is no way to fix it.
