Barbed wire vs Flail

Got the pulley to come off. No lube needed. It would have taken a lot longer without all of the help. Never used a taper lock before.
Hello Torvy,

Please be sure to use a torque wrench for the taper lock screws and
a bead of blue Loctite on the taper lock screw threads to secure the
taper lock bushing.

I bought a used tiller that had been used one time and the guy wrapped it full of heavy fence wire, it was wound so tight it was a nightmare. I took the acetylene torch to it and made quick work of it.

Thanks all. Using @leonz idea, I was able to get it off of there. Since it's a ditch mower, setting it on its back was tricky.

It's all put back together. Lube and testing will have to wait until tomorrow. The beauty of retirement. I can stop before I hurt myself and do more work tomorrow.

I thought about using the dremel, but I'm out of the grinder wheels. Hopefully there won't be a next time.

Leonz needs a dedicated title on here of Flail Master.

Just enough here to stop rotation. It's free now.

It always amazes me how much junk is left in the fields. I boarded horses and mules on two different places and both had piles of junk lying around, just waiting to nick up the horse's legs.

In 2006, I bought 20 acres that had been pasture for cows and there was old fencing left behind everywhere, covered up in the grass. I THINK I've removed all of it. At least I HOPE I've removed all of it.

Sometime ago, I caught a decent length of fencing net with my cutter. While it looks bad, since I run chains and not blades, it was a matter of finding one end of the fencing and just uncoil it.

I've also completely destroyed an old cast iron stove hiding in the brush with this cutter.

(fat finger in the way)

I ended up testing it yesterday anyway. Weather showed rain today. Turned out we got some in the evening. A couple of drops while I was wrapping up.

Worked like a champ. Now I can hopefully walk around without so many ticks joining me.

That is great to hear Torvy, happy mowing.

We had several days of 20 degree temps in middle TN, but it didn't seem to reduce the tick population.
