Well, they are growing fast, looks like an extension will happen sooner than not...

Spent yesterday on the tractor in the backyard, earlier I mentioned main reason for the tractor was to get backyard to drain, I moved a lot of dirt and rocks yesterday.

You see that dirt piled up on the bank? That was bare when I started, cut almost a foot down, still have a lot more to cut.

This picture you can see the bank, I topped it off from the light pole, left.

all the dirt on bank and the pile came from in front of the tractor to where I took picture.

Big project. Hopefully the ground isn't getting to hard on you in Summer. Here, my dirt turns into concrete in Summer!!!!

You can see skid marks from bucket already, it's getting hard.....should be about ready for a boxblade soon, to rip it up, then to modify the box blade so I can use it...never ending hope to rip off the old coop porch and rebuild it...after I fell through it

Well, since 2 of our "chickens" are bigger than the others, we ran out of roost spots inside..

so, i was tired of having to carry these folks inside every night...I added a few more spots last night.

Need to open the pen up another 20 ft or so and since I fell through the front porch...It will need to be replaced...never ending

I've been cutting oak and cedar branches for mine to roost on. It's become sort of a game for me to find new ways to mount them, and where to put them so we can walk through the coop without having to bend to go under them.

My latest idea was to use metal plumbers tape. I attach one end to a rafter, then wrap it once around the branch, and then attach the other end to the rafter. One end of the branch is held up by the metal plumbers tape, the other is screwed into a wood post. It moves a little when they are on it, but I think they like that!!

So, waiting on metal, my wife went out of town to her sister's. I have been working on a dog rest/picnic and now campsite..secret squirrel ****...

Cleaned up some, lots of work. Campsite is to the right.

Not sure yet, I did this area in secret for her, so I may see what she mentions. She did say "why did you clear a campsite?"

Do plan to put down white clover, and everything can quickly be mowed, it is part of the trail I'm doing.

Hopefully next spring or late,late fall I will do a trailride on mini bikes to show everyone, it will be quicker than walking it.

I have a 1/3 or walkable, need to box blade the return path so it is more level, twisted ankles can happen now.

Been awhile, so here are some pics from last Thursday, the day before the hurricane hit, we had already gotten 3 days of rain 6+inches, we had 10 to 12 inches of water standing, it was raining too hard.
Yes,backyard isn't graded yet, been working on it.

Car tires 1/2 covered.

Got out tractor and started a ditch to get away from foundation

When it finally broke through...it washed-out my footing

And I oops, sunk

Got her out with neighbor driving wife's truck

Oh wow, you went over fairly far! That's a lot of mud; how are you holding up post-storm?

Without tractor cleanup would of really sucked, beautiful weather the day after...mother nature is a finicky beotch..
