Yep. Many years ago we had some nutcase calling us in the middle of the night. We finally ended up involving the police and phone company. They monitored our phone line and found out who it was. They would not, however, let us know who it was. The calls stopped but it was still very disturbing not knowing who is doing bad things to you and why.

I had this happen to me many years ago.

The fruit would call in the middle of the night. Hear my voice and start using most unpleasent language. The first couple of times I just shrugged it off. Somehow I figured out he was calling his ex and win a man answered the phone he would go bonkers.

He really stepped over the line one night when he threatened to come over and shoot me or words to that effect. Ticked me off even though the twit did not know where I lived. Because of the previous phone calls I dialed *69, I think that it was, and got HIS number. I'm not sure how but I had guessed the phone number he was TRYING to dial. So I called that number and left her a message that this idiot called and threatened my life so she should be careful.

Next I called 911 and told them that the idiot at phone number X had just threatened me, that he really meant to call number Y, and that they might want to send an officer to the address of number Y and check on the lady.

The next day I had a phone call from the Lady at number Y. She appoligized for the idiot Ex which she did not have to do and thanked me for what I did. She said he would not be a problem again.

He never called again. My assumption is the POlice had a chat with him and that was enough to change his behavior.
