Hi Everyone, I'm new to tractor 3-point hookups!(be kind!) I have a 06' Kubota L-4330hstc, use only for snow...hasnt left the shop yet this year...i just bought a Kubota small ballast box, i think weight of the box and cement roughly 600-650lbs. When i hooked up, looking from the rear of the tractor, it seems level, however, i want to "move" the box to the left just and inch or two. The lower "links" have "pull pins"? with the holes, etc. do these pins have to be in the same holes ,both left and right arms? The crank lever, i think this straightens out the box?....top link threads...tilt box?

1.) how do i make these adjustments with box on or off?
2.) re-install check alignment? if off take box off, do again etc.?
3.) What i'm trying to do is have the box perfectly center between rear tires,if possible..

thanks ahead of time,

Philip

Sounds to me like you have it pretty well figured out. You have to adjust each time. with the box on the tractor sitting on perfectly level ground. the right side lift link adjusts the tilt or levelness of the box side to side: in other words both sides of the box should hit the ground at the same time when lowered. So crank the right side lift link to make that happen. Pull both pins in the sway bars and and push the box sideways to center it where you want it and find holes that line up. You will always have some sway but get it as close as you can. The top link adjusts to make the box stay in a vertical plane from all the way lowered to all the way up on the 3pt. The side lift link adjustment you should not have to mess with once it is set unless you changed it to tilt a blade or something, but the adjustable telescoping side sway bars you are going to have to set each time as you have to open them to hook up each time you unhook the implement. As for the top link, it will need to be adjusted for each implement you have, and for conditions like adjusting the angle of attack of a blade. I hope I did not confuse you more, but like I said in the first sentence you already have it figured out.

It sounds like your sway bars are uneven, you should be able to pull the pins and adjust the box to the center and repin. You will in most cases pin the sway bars to equal lengths to best hold the center position.

KouA AND OTHER THANKS FOR THE REPLY!,I understand that when i lower the ballast, the box is level and when lowered hits the ground evenly. It looks like the left "sway" bay is an inch longer then the right as Jenkinph mention, seem off a "tad". So when i'm at my shop tommorow, the ballast in on the shop floor attached to the tractor, do i "pull" JUST the LEFT pin (the left sway bar) and try to move box(its 700lbs, how will i move if on floor?) to left and re-pin? does the top link have to be removed off ballast to to this, right sway pin? Sorry for the questions again?

You should not have to remove or adjust the top link in order to change the sway bar adjustment. You will likely have to unpin the sway bars on both sides. If you have the weight box lifted just off the floor when you do this, you should be able to push or old the box near center as you re-pin one sway bar then the other. As James said, you will probably not eliminate all the sway, but it should be minimal.

After a little practice, it will all make sense.

Good luck!
