Ballast Box Bolt on Receiver

Now that is a nice setup! How did you mount the chainsaw sheath? I would love to do that as well, due to the fact I will be going in and out of my woods cutting timber.

Thanks!

We have a plastic recycle plant nearby & I keep some 1/8" & 1/4" 4x8' sheets on hand for projects. The sheath is a sandwich of 1/4" plastic, full sheet backing, narrow side strips & full sheet outer, bolted to the box with 1/4" stove bolts. Depending on the thickness of your bar, you may need thicker strips. Plywood will work, but the plastic will last better! ~~ grnspot

I'm always a chicken when it comes to doing anything permanently. Like Davy always said, "Be sure you are right,,,,then go ahead" . I tend to second guess too much but I'd rather run with sand for a while before I filled the box with permanent concrete. I keep thinking of more things that I want to carry in the box.

Yup. Think I decided to go with sand. I know if I fill with concrete, within a week I will have a better idea and be mad I did that.

BTW, one more suggestion (meaning, learn from my mistake). If you need to mount both the loader and ballast box, mount the loader first.
If your tractor is a relatively light machine (like my old 790 was) and the ballast box is filled...well, in my case when I lifted the 3PH, the box stayed on the dolly and the front end of the tractor rose up. Now that...that was unexpected!
