Well , I finally decided to work on my balist box. as most of you know i got a backhoe. so even though i had the tractor a while. balist box was not a priority. it just sat in the garage. I was not going to put tool carriers in mine. but after seeing what a fine job Mayor did. and after moveing brush to the bottom of the property haveing to take tools out of the bucket. and getting posion ivy... I knew i needed a place to put tools....:) so after reading some felt PVC would break or take away from weight . and yall knowing i like to lift extreamly heavy things.....:p ( More than JD Says.. ) I figured i would go with cast iron pipe instead. So i found me a 8 1/2 foot of 2 3/4 cast pipe, cut into 2 foot sections. sanded the top 8 inches or so smooth to look like normal pipe. drilled my wholes for water drain. then welded them to the bottom. ;) After Kennyd told me the weight specs. and portland being the heaviest. i choose to go that way. Dont we learn so much here from everyone...:) So i mixed up a 100$ worth of pure portland. man that stuff is like clay its so dence , hard to mix....:( but i got her all filled up and smoothed out. as it was setting up , that box got so hot. i thought it was going to catch fire....:D i only used 4 pipes , i figured that was enough tools for me. after it set up. i sanded the concrete edges and taped off the stickers. and painted the whole box and the concrete. then i cut out black rubber matting i got from home depot. and put it in the top. I got 2 ,12 foot 3/8 gold logging chains that fits perfect in the pipes. when not useing tools. when i need to carry a shovel or something. i will just lay the chains on the mat.;) it turned out real nice. i am happy with it..:) according to Kenny's specs with filled with portland and the weight of the box. and my chains and pipes. it should be around 1100 pounds. I know its heavy it dont budge. now i got to make me a new dolly to move it around. the 2520 should be planted pretty good.:)
I also just got my new 3 point JD reciever hitch. it is cool. I think woods makes it. its painted green like all JD stuff. and it is completely IMatch compatable. i already tried it. you just pick it up and it fits right in. IMatch bushings and all. I bought a 3 ball reciever from northern. it has 1 /78 and a 2 inch and 2 5/15 ball already on it so i should be covered. As always here is a few pictures of the finished balist box and the new IMatch reciever hitch...;)

Chris......:)

Thanks Kenny.....:) I am glad you steered me to the portland cement. I can see now why its so heavy. its like trying to mix playdoe...:D very hard to do. if i had added sand it may have been a little easier to mix. but i want all the weight i could get....;) man is it heavy.. you cant rock it slide it of buge it.....without the tractor.....:D

As usual Chris, you did exceptionally neat work. I'll definately incorporate the cast iron and rubber mat idea when I do mine. I like tools to look neat as well as functional.

Chris, great job. I just picked up the same 3pt trailer hitch and ball setup. The hitch is made by femco. I was quite pleased with the quality of it.
