I just picked one up from the dealer. I will install it this weekend. Anybody have one already? Share some pictures?

I got the disc mower fired up this evening and made a couple rounds. I will knock out the front pasture (32 acres) in the morning and start on the rear (65 acres) after that. Maybe I will get done in time to mess with this moisture sensor.

I put one on mine right before I baled a couple weeks ago and I loved it. It's very nice being able to watch the moisture readings on each bale now and know when I get a damp one. I didn't have that problem last time but this time around I fertilized it right and have been throwing the water at it so much we never even shut the pump off. I'm going to see how big a windrow my new inline baler can take in a couple weeks.

Only suggestion I have for you is to use the drilling template that probably came with yours and center punch the holes hard so it doesn't walk off on you. Buy some new drills too. Those to probes need to be perfectly centered in the hole so the bushing fits around each of them.

Thanks for the info. I got all my hay cut today. So, while it cures I will mess with getting the sensor in there. It came with a 25' cable. I don't think that is going to be long enough. I ordered a 10' extension. I hope it comes in Sat.

I installed mine on Sat. It has worked very well. I am amazed at how the numbers can be all over the place at times.

Thanks,
D.

Did you end up needing the extension? I didn't need any extension when I did my NH 575 and I have plenty of cable left to come into the cab or operator station. Overall they are a fairly easy install just make sure your wire isn't anywhere near the pto shaft or any points where it will rub. I had a problem where my readings were all over the place, I ended up finding a spot where the wire was rubbing against the pto shield and it wore the rubber coating off the wire so the wires were crossing and messing up my readings.

Yeah - the 10' extension was required. 25' made it to the mid point of the drawbar. I followed the factory wiring and actually put it in the harness that all the other sensors run in.

I installed it on a JD 467 round baler.
