1963 case 530 CK backhoe
I purchased a 1963 case 530 CK. ALL HYDRAULICS SEEM TO WORK QUITE WELL. I went to service it and the hydraulic filter housing (right side,4 bolt ,in front of battery) is dry. not even a film of oil. This does not seem possible I ran a camera in there and everything looks clean. I
do not know where to look next.Has anyone else seen this? I am at a loss. Thanks for your help, Dave

Might have a by-pass valve? And it is in the by-pass (of the filter) position? No idea. Just help on your pondering. Do you have, or can you trace out a circuit diagram?

I have an operators manual but that is all. It is a torque converter model by the way

I believe the bypass is supposed to be a spring on the outside of the filter but mine does not have that and the filter does not leave room for one
