In reference to the supplying good voltage issue, if you are not noticing any other issues you should be fine. They like 12 volts to engage and will generally hold with a consistent 10 volts or so. In my world, I get the comment about a deck not running or staying engaged from time to time. You go to start the machine and the guy says, oh I have to jump it to get it running - not realizing that he is asking an electromagnet to lock the drive pulley to the engine shaft. When it comes time to replaced, get a battery with good power - like a 300 or so CCA rated one. Your Badboy may too have an adjustable clutch as well. Too much of an air gap will make them temperamental on engagement. If it is adjustable, you will see 3 evenly spaced nuts holding the clutch body retainer with springs that push the retainer back.
