Just killing time. Well not really, doing lots of thinking & yes it hurts. :D

Brandy, I forgot to mention about 10 or 12 miles north of here is a ledge of slate rock almost perfectly flat. real good for walk ways & top of walls'

A little on critters.
Hop toads are here & out. 1 or 2 living in barn. Mostly bug eaters but eat dog food as well.
More tiny little quail, came through fire area & took the baby's to drink. Was afraid they would go off the ledge again. But they went back the way they came.
Still have the flying ants, sprayed them with bug stuff a couple of times. But why bother it does not do any good. Let the lizards & birds eat them

I have named this the year of the wind. So much wind that all the dust has already blown away
A little warm as usual 103. Lots of thunder & lighting out east & north last night., No rain & nothing close.

Killed some more ribs today. Maybe not may be fit to eat. so tender can't be picked up with a fork

The almost constant pain is really getting to me, got to do something fairly soon.

More pictures & stories later.
Jim

Brandy just show up here with a truck & trailer & I will load you up with all the rocks you could use in 2 life times. All shapes sizes & colors. Keep at it and you could have enough to build a wall around Texas. :D

Jim
Jim,
We could use a dike more than a wall.

I don't recall the details of what the cause of your back pain is, but mine was caused by narrowing of the nerve canals and loose joint L4/5. They went in on my left side for the L4/5 fusion (only 2-3 inch scar) and then in my lower back for cleaning out nerve canal, 3-4inch scar. I didn't have any stitches or staples, just glue and steri-strips. No bleeding where they went in, immediate pain relief from back issues. This was Nov 2014, still no pain but I waited too long to have surgery so nerves have not recovered completely. I have balance problems and such but it is so nice to be able to have a day without pain. Surgery is not for everyone but it worked for me and I am pleased with results. I fell down several times a week before surgery (forgot to be careful), not near as often after surgery. I need to lose a bunch more weight to improve long term health quality. Hoping and praying you find some relief from the pain.

A new day & new problems.
Feeling much better today. Yesterday I was miserable, not really sick, just not feeling good.
Its like I had joined the pain of the month club or pain of the week.

Huge curve bill ( bird ) out front as I type this. Biggest I have ever seen, almost as big as a dove.

Had a pet rat 1 time. Owned a 1959 Ford convertible, ( 390 engine & a real runner.) Someone cut the top & put a wild rat in it. Big sucker, 3/4 times bigger than the ones here. Took him home & put him in a bird cage. The door would let down & make a ramp. When I ate would put some lettuce or what ever for him to eat. Started off with it just outside the cage. kept moving it out until he would come get it off my plate. ( real nice 3 bed room & 2 bath. $125 a month. short dirt driveway then steep cement going to the House, so steep the when it rained car would slide back down it. Also when it rained the phone did strange things. I would try to call & could hear people taking. Had quite an earth quake one day. Happened to be standing in the front door when it hit. Had to grab the door jam to keep from falling over. Out front was a large grass field ( looked like wheat.) The quake rolled across that field like a big wave. )

Back to the rat, moved to a different house & put him in the back yard, he dug a hole under a cement wall. After a hard or frustrating day, i"d come home, sit down beside his hole & start talking to him. He would come out & listen to all my problems. For some reason I quit feeding him & 1 day he was gone. Never came back or maybe he died???

I am pretty slow to anger. Right??
Coming back form a nice park by the beach one day with the top down. 2 Young kids standing up in the windows of a fairly new Buick & spitting into the air, hoping it landed on me. I was pizzed & chased them down the freeway. They took an off ramp & could not go on. I jumped out of tihe car & put my fist through the window of the driver. They squealed like a bunch of little girls. Don't remember my had even gutting sore. Wondered what they told daddy on how the window got broken.

Back to the WJ'S.
Whole family was there, including uncle Dale & grandad. Mom was making the bed one day & a scorpion bit her. 90 Miles to town, she had a 49 Buick & it had to be parked 2/3 miles away & you had to walk to it. She came out on the front porch & sat down to die. After about 30 minutes, she said to **** with it and went back in and finished making the bed.

Enough for 1 day.

I was camping in Beaver Creek canyon in Arizona once and got stung by a bark scorpion on the calf. First my calf when numb the my whole leg up into my lower back/spine turned to fire. Heart was beating super fast.

I thought I was going to die. About 4hrs later the pain started to subside. Calf was hyper sensitive to light touch for another week and numb for another few months.
Serious little bastards. Nothing like the scorpions in Texas.

there are several types of scorpions some almost harmless to humans & some like the 1 that bit you, can raise he!! with your body.
No idea what kind bit ( they don't bite but sting with their tail.) mom.

The ones in Texas I have experienced are more like a bad wasp sting.

I was surprised that the one that got me on the toe was so mild. I stuck my foot in a shoe where it was hiding and it hit me on the big toe. Maybe it didn't have room to get a good strike inside the shoe but it hurt like heck for about 30 minutes is all.
