Critters!!
Big banded king snake is still here. was laying in front of the barn door a couple of nights ago.
Have a small hawk coming by, seen it about 3 times. Scatters the doves, but don't think he is after them. Nailed a cotton tail one time. Sat to gloat & the rabbit got away.
Humming birds, how can so much bravado & ornery ness be built into something so small??? Was moving 1 of their sugar bottles. 1 Sat down on 1 side and another 1 did the same on the other side. About 8 inches in front of my face.
A small bird tried to get a hummer to feed it. Hopped from branch to branch begging.
First time ever saw a hummer drinking plain water.
Quail gone for a few days. Dove season open, think the shooting sent them into hiding. Still only a few coming in.
Saw the Dalmatian looking great Dane, its pit bull follower & a small dog the runs with them. Have seen them twice. Do wonder how the little one keeps up???

Kirby use to dream, could hear her feet going against the closet door.
Riley dreams a lot. Sort of half barks & her feet really go. She will turn over and in a few minutes do it all over again.
Bobby doesn't dream very often. Little 1/2 barks now & then. Has woke herself up a time or 2 with a loud bark.
Have any of you tried Bravecto?? Am thinking about trying it.
Accomplishing almost nothing lately. No energy or ambition.
The bear hunt. I remember very little of that day. Rode out past the Slaughter house & on past the lion kill. Don't remember loading the bear on the mule or the kill.
Do remember dad was really nerves. Rare that anything bothered him. This was shortly after bears became protected. If you killed 1, you had to prove it was killing livestock. When we go back to Slaughter's place he dumped the bear on the ground. Almost immediately cut open its belly. Reached in & found a hand full of calf hair. You could see the relief come over him.
