Thorns & Roses. Think there is a song about that.

#1 Thorn. Get up from computer & fall on my face. Didn't hurt very much, on carpet.
(Maybe I told you, fell down going through barn a few days ago. Hurt much worse.)

#2 Thinks to get done, OH Crap!!!Tractor will not start. Someone left key switch on. At least it's out & can be Jumped. Have old cables , back of truck for years, clamps rusty. But they do work. Had called Doug just in case.

Life Sucks.
saw VA Dr today (2) lots of talk, No action. To mail some pills
WW got long shoe horn, good??? + a few other little things.

Fries _ Load up basket, oops 2 much stuff for my little $$$$$ Give stuff back. No big deal, just embarrassing.
Stop on way, see Larry, see Doug, Nope just get me home.

Dry mouth like you would not believe. beer helps & tastes good.

Sleep about 1/2 hour, wake up feeling worse. Can't pee, can't crap. My destiny is to feel miserable the rest of my life.

Guess I will drink a beer & cry into it.
Happy days coming??, may not live that long.
Jim

Jim, What are your dogs up to lately?

Mutts are doing fine PITA included. Thought I had a fix yesterday to keep her out for a while. Nope she is here this morning.
Look around later, a new place or poor fix.???

More important is ad a step to tractor, help me get on without falling. Maybe add a additional handle, just have to see.

Had my sister pick me up & take me to the emergency where she works. I made a mistake & told them I had VA, basically they threw me out. Sister had just got home had to come back & get me. Got home about 2:30 am. Then she had to get up around 5 am to go to work. Could not talk her out of it.

Well I saw Pita go out, a whole new place where no other dog has gone. Think I can get to it with the tractor. Sure need more coarse gravel to dump into it. Quite a ways out there but there are lots of rocks, mostly smooth, but better than pea gravel.

Was able to get on & off the tractor pretty well yesterday. didn't get step built. Maybe today??

Someone guess on the "Y" shaped stick. It is finished up now, just needs some fun tests.

Trying to do more healthy things, simple like drinking more water, juice, & so on.

Took pictures of legs & feet. Left foot a little reder than it looks in picture. & more swollen Swelling goes almost to the knee. Right foot & leg not so bad, but still a real irritation..
2 FEET.jpg - L FOOT.jpg - R FOOT.jpg

A tip or 2 for you to try, dull side of alum foil is slightly none stick, to tell if eggs are fresh, if they float, they are bad.
Think I have said this before Instant glue saved thousands of battle field lives. Kept wounds together until they could be treated better.

Hope all of you had a good Easter. Lots of good food, & friends.

More later,
Jim

101/102 today. Heater in am, cooler during the day.

After 2 motors & 2 pumps in about 3 months, think I deserve it to work.
Felt like crap all of yesterday & most of this AM. Even painful. Got body working late in AM & sure feel better.
Swelling in feet seems to be going down. Just very slowly. May keep both feet for a while.:D

Rarely feel like posting. Since most people don't answer.

1 Summer dad & were Staying at the W'js & hunting on John Slaughter's ranch. Ride out early try to avoid the real heat. Hunting on a mule is much safer than horse back. Rode around a little shale cliff & it started to slip. Mule froze, then calmly walked on. Up on top of this little mesa was a hole with some water in it. Water skippers & some green moss in it. Keep hounds out until you can get a drink . Don't think we ever carried an water with us.??

Going down this narrow gorge with real steep sides it is hot. Hounds have heads down & toungs ( how do you spell that word??) Coming the other way was a big old male lion, he is hot & miserable as well, but going away from water. Hounds did not see or smell him or he them until they were almost nose to nose. Then all He!! breaks loose, he beat them to the top of a small steep island with a small tree on top. Fairly soon he got nervous & bailed out down the hill & through brush it would be hard to walk through. Dad followed breaking brush all the way. I was to go down to Turkey Creek & wait for them. When I got there lion was in a low branch & hounds very excited. Dad handed me the rifle, think it was a Winchester 25-20 or 25-35. He said shoot him in the left eye, gun shoots a little low. At 20 feet how far off can it be?? Lion has to be dead when it hits the ground. Or it hurt the hounds. Shot was about 1/2 inch hi, but he was dead. Went to John Slaughter's house & I think it was the only time I ever saw him Older man, slim sitting in a chair, carving on chewing tobacco to smoke in his pipe. State paid a bounty, cattle mans association paid a bounty and John paid as well.

Think we may have lift lion there, do not remember skinning & stretching to dry.

Next day or few days later on the west side of Johns place we came up on another lion feeding on an a calf. He shot & the lion fell off, Hounds found a way down as did dad. I took the mules a little farther & found a place I could get down. 1/2 hour or so. When I got there dad was standing on the lions neck to keep it from biting the hounds.

Again a few days later in almost the same place came upon a bear. Dad killed the bear, don't remember if had to be chased down or not. Took it to johns place & dumped it off. Mules do not like bear's but susi-q did not object when dad put it on her. As we rode dad kept getting more & more nervice. Got to Johns yard & unloaded the bear. Dad slit its belly & reached in pulling out a handful of calf hair. Sure be relief for him. Left him there for John to find.

Going back to WJ's after last gate we nearly race to house. Dad always won no matter which mule he was riding.

There were lots of things that we had to do when we got back. Feed hounds, horses, give them water & so on + eat.
Do i remember any of that??? Nope not a bit Do remember we slept on a couple of old cots on front porch. & Thats it.

Maybe more later,
Jim

Jim - is the VA treating your leg situation. They should have you on a diuretic and be checking your blood sugar. this is symptom of several issues including diabetes or heart issues. Please get to a doctor and have this issue addressed. You are in my thoughts. Also take the pictures in with you on your next visit and have them put in you med history. I am worried about the treatment you are getting, Please get a second opinion for someone new. A lot of us care about you here!
Keith

PS A lot of folks care about you and just because we don't post immediately about you does not mean we are not here for you. Again please seek out other Doctors than the VA. From your pictures you need to find someone that cares. I am going to Contact the VA outreach office here and show them you pictures, Please keep posting every day, a lot of us are following you. - Keith

Jim, sorry for not answering often here also but there are a LOT of us that follow along with every post. So please keep on keeping on.
And yes. I hate doctors and hospital visits also. But you are going to have to put some of that determination you use to fix that swamp cooler or tractor into getting yourself fixed up. So saddle up and get it done.
