Backup camera for watching rear implements?

I want a heads up display (instrument cluster) with rear view built into my sunglasses. Retina controlled if I am not asking too much.
yeah, how about VR goggles? They should be viewable in full sun.

Totally doable. You could use a front and rear camera with Fatshark, or similar, goggles. I use them to fly planes and race quads. Get a good Sony CCD chip. Not likely to be a comfortable or safe solution for a tractor though.

I have not done any research on the subject of cameras on a tractor but there is bound to be a monitor that would allow you to view in the sun. Be sure you view it with sun glasses off if you have difficulty viewing. I have had color chartplotters on boats that I used in direct sunlight with no problems.

If you find a solution please let us know.

All the "backup cameras" I've seen plug into a cigarette lighter, something my tractor doesn't have. :)

If you want to add one I wouldn't let that stop you. You can cut the cigarette lighter plug off and direct wire it. Check out the thread that s219 posted. Lots of good information there.

Here is a screen shield that may help in sunny conditions. Not too pricey but I'm sure you could make something easily too. 44 not found

No need for a cig lighter (anymore). :)

Sure, of course, obviously I know you can just cut the plug off, which leaves two little wires that you attach to.......what? Tractor doesn't seem to have any handy pairs of red and black wires hanging out ready to be attached to anything. Do not want to hijack the thread; no worries, if I decide to go that route I will figure it out. Google is my friend. I fixed the electronic control panel on my dishwasher from instructions on the internet. Yes I did.

No different than wiring up electronics, stereo, etc... in a car or boat. Start with the fuse panel and work it out from there.

Greetings all/ I recently put an Amazon camera into my bobcat 773. It works pretty good . It has backup lines and proximity warning in colors. Daylight viewing was okay. But I wanted something better in terms of wide angle viewing. A search turned up a higher quality camera with a wider angle. I ordered it and was anxious to try the 2 camera option for my 7 inch screen. An advertised option. I mounted a toggle switch next to the key. The first camera was mounted just above the engine door. The second camera is mounted on the underside of the roof. No worries about branches or such knocking it off.
It works great. I can easily toggle between the 2 views. The 1st camera gives better distance viewing and the second is better for close quarter viewing. I can easily back down the barn isle, avoid the car, the fence, even the dog.
This is a must have upgrade for any bobcat not operated solely in the middle of a 50 acre field. I had a mirror before, the screen mounts where the mirror was. The rear vision is 500% improved. Powered by a direct battery connection (inline fused). I did have to get an adapter for the second video line as it was a little different set up than the original. I ended up needing to connect 2 females but I found male to male adapter on Amazon.
Thinking of doing this now for the new MX tractor rather than a mirror.
This is the unit I bought on amazon https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07HFWPRPG/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1
The mount seems a little flimsy but it is holding up better than expected. But the image has contrast and light adjustment which is good. Remember to clean your lenses.

For my tractor I have both a mirror and a backup camera. The tractor is open station with a canopy. The camera is marginal in usefulness primarily because of glare and lack of contrast on the camera lens. The mirror is much more useful. I also have a backup camera and monitor I added to my truck that I use when hauling my gooseneck trailer. It has the same problem with sun angles on the camera lens and not enough contrast. I use it primarily for backing up the trailer to see what the angle between truck and trailer is. Beyond that, mirrors are more useful.

Have 3 cams on my cab tractor, one facing directly back and one left and one right (mounted high). The screen can show one or all 3 at one time and the screen has a sun shade on it. (I used a drone sunshade for the view screen).

I tried a rear view mirror. It was a waste of time. Too much vibration. I don't expect any type of camera would be any better.
