We are getting ready to buy a TN55 or TN65 4x4 in the next couple of weeks with a NH LA32 loader. I am curious, has anyone had extended experience with using a 3 point hitch type backhoe on such a tractor>???Do they work well?

I have a Woods 1050 on a TNS75 and it works very well. Very strong 3 point hitch. BTW I would seriously consider getting the TN65 or higher. I think you'll find the TN55 to be underpowered.

Are you running a subframe? I have a TN 65 and I would like to eventually get a backhoe for it. I've seen a few for around $1500.

I'm not running a subframe. It is a very sturdy Catagory 2 3 pt hitch where the 3 mount points are connected together to form a rigid mount. Both my dealer and the Woods engineer I spoke to assured me that with a tractor that strong and the way it mounted I would not have any problems (they appear right so far). All of my smaller machines that I have had, 1710, 2120 etc have had subframes. I would not run a 3 pt hitch mount on a compact tractor. The Woods 1050 is an excellent backhoe. It cost me around $9000 set up.
