I love it when posters say we should stop posting.

I had a bit of a different meaning.
Mine left for greener pastures 25 years ago (she did not find them).
I have (intentionally) not done a permanent replacement.
Oh, sorry for the misunderstanding on my part. :p
Comments on the internet can be easily misinterpreted verses face to face conversation.
I guess I was just too happy to post the comment that I did.

No problem from me with your response.
It is a wonderful thing that you are still married.
Wish the divorce disaster had not struck me.

I think the original poster has left a long time ago, this thread has digressed maybe we should kill this thread?
not yet.we have not moved this thread onto a 180 degree morph to something else yet...like other threads. Wait until were talking about concealed carry or pot bellied pigs :cool2:

Or climate change. Or HST versus Gear.

Sorry to add an on topic post but here’s my 2 cents.

I don’t have a lot of money to keep tied up in machinery that gets occasional use but also travel for work a lot and don’t have time to rent a machine or even know when I’ll be around to use it. Plus I have literally a hundred odd little things to do around the yard.

My compromise was to buy a very used, very old John Deere 400 that is 14k lbs. I didn’t pay much for it, I could scrap it and get half my money back. I’ve done one project myself that paid for the machine (vs hiring out the project) and used it to move material and help (or at least stay out of the way of) the real contractor on a large retaining wall project. By my calculation my $3500 machine has paid for itself twice over, plus, what’s more fun than construction equipment. It’s old and worn and doesn’t do precision work, but neither do I. I’m not concerned with repair costs, I’m a mechanic and I’m not worried about resale value.

I did find a used 4672 for my Kubota 7510 last year for $4500 and and bought it. I figure I’ll keep both because they are vastly different in scale. I can do precision work with the Kubota but only a little at a time and both are there anytime the wife says jump.

Edit: oddly enough she will drive the Deere but not the Kubota.
