Backhoe trenching bucket question.

So I recently purchased a 1973 Ford 3550. It came with a massive bucket on the backhoe (753 model) and a trenching bucket to swap out. The guy I bought it from didn't seem to know much about it and says he's never put the trenching bucket on. I went to swap them out and it doesn't fit. I didn't even think to read the plate or take measurements. So my question to all of you is this: Can you get a conversion plate or something to make this fit on my machine or should I just sell it to someone with a compatible hoe and buy a new one for myself?



The first picture is my disappointment that my link and the bucket are the same width. The others are of the serial numbers etc on the trenching bucket.

I am by no means an expert, but aside from having someone cut and reweld the bucket bushings, you could perhaps find a quick connect system that would allow you to convert your different sized buckets to fit one universal bracket.

Sell it to someone else. Find agood used one or new one that works correctly. In the long run, your money will be better spent and the bucket geometry will be correct.

I think that's what I wanted to hear, but figured I'd throw it out there. Any idea on what a fair price is if I sold it myself?
