After typing all this I see where " A PICTURE IS WORTH A THOUSAND WORDS "
Exactly And the cost issue is precisely why I was asking how you made yours. Amazing what some places charge for their stuff, BUT that's what makes the "world go 'round and 'round ". You only used two claws? The 2" by 1" was welded 90 degrees to the 2" by 2" ?
Inquiring and cheap people want to know! /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Yes the 2x1 tube is welded at 90- 3" long on the 2 1/2" square tube (1/4" wall) this fits up in the mount they provided, 5" long on the 2" square tube (3/16" wall). what I did was used a tubing notcher (harbor freight) on the ends- 2" hole saw

The thumb is 12" wide x 30", it won't work with 12" bucket 15" and up, yes 2 claws like most others- but very stout, weight 89lbs with the 1 3/8" pin + 33lbs for the dead leg, pin part# 16453. the 2 1/2" tube is also drilled 1" at end and down aways from the 2x1 tube to hold it up for storage-- the leg pins in the middle hole of the existing mount and swings up to dipper along with thumb and locks in with a 1" pin - thru the holes closest to the bucket, also thru the 1/2" tabs on thumb. adjust range is great all the way from about a 90 to the dipper to enough to grab a 12" pipe with the bucket fully uncurled

My daughter is getting married at our house this weekend, I'am sure there will be a bunch of digital cameras here- I will try and get some pictures and post them /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

That will be a delicate moment... daughter's big day and dad adjourns with one or more guests to take equpment pics out in the shop. Better play that one just right or you could be in the doghouse with both daughter and wife for quite a while. Suggestion: Don't wait until everyone is in uniform! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

But congratulations anyways!

GOOD advice grandad, I will have to play it by ear getting pictures of tractor stuff that day-- maybe a little bribe to photographer to keep him quite. heck whats a couple of 11x14 photos amongst I am sure the HUNDREDS of photos wife will have him take /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Wife has ben working me like a dog getting EVERYTHING ready for this wedding--- paint the house, paint and reroof shed, cleanup entire yard (3/4 acre) pond, pool, etc etc. I think she owes me a couple of pictures /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Gota go , she caught me on the computer-darn slave driver /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
