I called three that I know here in the area, late Friday afternoon.
A bit too late I think.
I do agree with you, many times a pro is the best solution.

Congratulations on getting it out. Just takes persistence. Just like you never see cat skeletons in trees, you rarely see old equipment rusting abandoned in swamps (although maybe they've sunk?)

Way to go!

Combover, thanks for the update, and congratulations for getting unstuck. I see there have been over 800 views of this thread. I'm sure there are many of us who share your relief! Been there, done that, and feeling the tractor sink deeper into the muck is not a happy experience.

Glad you were able to get it unstuck.

I noticed in your last picture that you had the rope around the trees too high. Next time you do this place the rope as close to the ground as you can. This greatly reduces the chance of pulling the trees over.

You were able to extract the machine from the soft area without the help of another machine. That means you were not really stuck. Never admit to being stuck if you get yourself out. But if videos surface on the inter net, there is always witness protection.LOL

Once you get unstuck with a backhoe you will never think you are stuck again. It is a confidence builder to free yourself.

The rope started out at the bottom of the trees.
The rope did slide up as the tractor came up the hill.
The tie point on the bucket was much higher when the tractor was near the top of the grade.
Thanks again for all the help today.

Congratulations on getting out. I've found that when I'm stuck with mine, I need to use the front bucket as a skid and get the tires out of the mud. They just become an anchor to keep it in place. I've also found that if I'm unsure of an area, or I notice a wet spot, to get the heck out of there and come back another day. One good stuck can ruin a whole day, and then there is the job of cleaning up the mess you create getting unstuck.

Ditto on that. Been years since I had to wrestle a machine out of the mud. Because I've got real good at not going there in the first place. The other lesson is, when you do get stuck, try to do it in a place where nobody can see you. It is a lot harder to get out when everyone is offering advice or chuckling.
