Backhoe Backhoe operation on a cab tractor

Reach is everything on a hoe. Most CUT hoes are sadly lacking, and this coupled with the dismounting issue make them a pain for trenching. OK for digging a hole or two. The Ex is of course nice on account of it's 360 movement. There never is enough room to both dig a hole and fill a trailer it seems, when using a tractor mounted hoe.

The old JD 110 was a nice arrangement, with a single seat, great hoe and creep switch on the fender console but was never made with a cab.

I just traded my L3940 ROPS with BH92 backhoe for a L6060 cab and will not be installing a hoe on the L60
On the 3940 there was a "cruise control" lever and you could reach it from the backhoe seat and use it to move the tractor forward, the cruise on the new tractor is electronic and has no such lever.
I got limited use out of the BH92 hoe, it worked great but for the cost I can rent a small excavator when I need it and you can do so much more with the excavator.

I have my eye on the KX040 with cab and 6 way blade. Seems to fill that more power than is required. I'll have some seat time in one soon and will know. As said, should I need a bigger one, they are available. Renting a Kubota here is a bit more cost since they have to travel 50+ miles to deliver.
