I would like to hear from those of you who have used a backhoe on your TC25-33 series New Hollands. What brand are you using? Have you been happy with your choice or do you wish you had a heavier duty unit? What types of work are the hoes on these tractors capable of? Can they dig rocks out of heavy soil, etc? Are they easy to remove so as to switch to a mid mount mower? I'm considering a 33D or a Kubota L3010 for backhoe work as well as a multitude of other chores. I appreciate the replies!

Dave,
Kubota offers only one backhoe..BL4690-1 and the implement pump gpm are rated at 7.0
NH offers two backhoes for the TC33..756C&758C and the hydraulic pump capacity 7.6 & total pump flow gpm 12.2

I have rumors that the NH was quicker easier far as removing and installing a backhoe.

I've got a 757 on a TC33D. I feel that it's pretty easy to install and remove although since it's my first I don't have anything to compare it to! It took me 10 minutes to remove it the first time and I'd say it's taken me anywhere from 15 to 30 minutes to re-install it depending on how good I'm getting things lined up. The backhoe attached via some frame mounted bracketry so I recommend checking to make certain that the mower mounting hardware and backhoe hardware are compatible, i.e. you don't have to take off the frame mounted bracketry to switch to the other component. As to digging out rocks, sure it does that. I've got a 12" bucket and have dug out rocks bigger than the bucket. I don't know how big a rock could actually be extracted - it's not an industrial backhoe but a nice general purpose tool.

The JD is by far the fastest and easiest that I've seen. I put my 47 B/H on my 4300 in about 3 min. today. Really simple to do. Just lift it up with the rock shaft and one pin on each side. Hook up the two hydro lines and your done.

I have a NH tc29d with a woods 7500 backhoe i love it! I have about 50 hrs of use with it and it has done all of the jobs i have thrown at it, It can dig down 7 1/2 feet and can lift large rocks they must weigh atleast 500 lbs, and for the money $5900 was the best deal i found, on a tc25 you proberly would go with a woods 6500 it can dig 6 1/2 feet they come in blue, orange, or green

I have the Bush-hog 752H with subframe - easy off (5/10 minutes), about 30 minutes on for first time on/off on a muddy field. Digs in heavy clay and light shale fine. Rips through 2-3in roots fine. 8 foot maximum, 7.5 foot flat bottom. I only have 15 hours on the tractor and about 4 on the backhoe. Uses just the tractor hydraulics (no add on PTO pump). I don't think it would work very well without a FEL. If the front bucket is up, the backhoe just drags the tractor and does not dig well even with a full front bucket. Digs great with front bucket down. My tractor has filled tires and the 7308 FEL.

make sure you go with a new holland backhoe with sub frame new holland will void warrenty on tractor main frame problems if there is a backhoe on tractor three point that is not new holland ok"d the new holland backhoes are much more rigid and they can be installed and removed in thrree minutes with a little practice

Gary - re: NH "approved" backhoes

Has NH approved any back hoes other than their own for use on the TC-series without voiding the warranty?

Hi Dave,
Just received my 25d with a 757. Got no complaints. I dug a hole to the max reach and was really satisified. I'm on clay hard as rock and the bucket dug right through. If I had to dig up a complaint the only thing I can say is that the BH takes up a pretty large foot print in the pole barn since the whole sub frame drops off with it. Considering the tractor has to approach the frame between the rear tires to mount you have to have enough room in front of the BH to move. Not a big deal, but something to think about. Also it can be a bit%$ to hook up if it was dropped off on unlevel ground.

Mike -
How much did your 757 backhoe end up costing you? I have a TC33D and am considering one. The dealer has one with salt damage (corrosion coming through the paint in places). Apparently it was shipped to another dealer last winter and the road salt was never washed off.

It's new, with warranty, asking $5900 for it. My main concern is a few rust spots on the cylinder shafts (might tear up seals?). Other than that, the damage is mostly cosmetic.
