Jinma 404 (2023)
Hi folks, I´m assembling the backhoe attachment on a Jinma 404.

Bought Tractor and accessories directly from the factory but it has no manuals.

1. Should the pump turn by hand, (because mine doesn´t) or only the PTO can turn it.

2. Is there and up or down for hanging the pump? It seems to have a breather on what I figure is up.

Thank for any help.

The pump, being mounted to a PTO multiplier, will be hard to turn by hand.

In this current configuration of the breather on the PTO multiplier, you want the pump on top. If you need the pump on the bottom for whatever reason, you'll need to change the breather position on the PTO multiplier.

Make sure you get the Inlet and Pressure out hoses correctly.

Also you will need a bar or chain to keep the pump assembly from spinning with the PTO. The hoses and fittings are not designed for those forces.

One hose comes from the hydraulic tank and enters the pump (inlet). The other comes out of the pump and goes to the control valve (outlet).

In the back of the pump, there are arrows indicating inlet and outlet.

The multiplier has an oil level sight glass indicator. The pump must be mounted on top. Reaction chains are a must.

Usually the suction side hose (from tank to pump) has a larger ID than the pressure side hose that goes from the pump to the valve bank.

Also don't forget to fill the pump with gear oil.

How can I tell witch oil they use and how do I fill them?
Remove the vent cap to fill. Make sure the unit is upright (pump on top) when filling and checking the oil level (it should read half way in the sight glass not running). If there is no spec for oil in the manual it would be safe to use the same oil as used in your transmission, probably 80W-90 or 85W-90 gear oil.
