Allis Chalmers 616 (Two) and a Kioti CK30 HST with loader and backhoe
Can I hook the lines up backwards on a 2475 backhoe. The manual says "red here and white here" for the 2 lines but there are no red or white ties on mine.

Would it do harm for them to be reversed?

The oil would flow in the opposite direction and the controls would move things opposite than normal. I did this last time I hooked up my BH... I just changed my valve from the 'A' position to the 'B' position and all is operating normally.

OK that makes sense. Thanks.

I can not as the male and female fitting set up would not permit.

That is very interesting Joel. Why would they change it so the settings are the same now? That seems odd.

agreed.

On my machine, the connections at the tractor for the backhoe are one male and one female. No way to cross them up.

I really like the way my backhoe mounts to my machine, the four point set up works well.

Only thing I wish for is a little more length on the hose from the hoe making so I don't have to be super close to hook up prior to mounting.

It does seem logical to do what you have done but most equipment intended to be run by rear remotes seems to be based on having two male connectors. I find that I can just put a ziptie on one of the males on the implement and one of the females on the tractor and that helps me remember to put things in the right hole. My wife gets very upset when I try to put my connectors in the wrong hole.:D

Ha ha

I put zip ties on them all now so I know what to do next time. Would not want to be in trouble with the wife like Island!!!:eek::eek:

Sorry Island, I've been married for almost 10 years now and I don't understand the wife inuendo at all......my wife don't know a connector from a crescent wrench, much less how the heck they "hook up".

Anyway, my tractor came this way.

The LK is a little different I think than most in that the hoe and loader are essentially a single circuit, when I detach hoe I need to re-route the loader outlet straight to the valve block and cut the rear remotes completely out of the loop.

Had some good seat time today, the weather was amazing.

Well....I've been married for 17 years, and I never needed any zipties.....:D

I have a red ziptie on one of the backhoe male lines, and I hook that up to the top female remote. However, I had switched them around when I thought I might have had a loss of hyraulic power. There was none....I just kept picking on larger objects.....:D

Deputy I had the same deal with thinking I was loosing power. Took a step back and realized the rock was the size of a trash barrel and the stump was as big as the tractor.

My old tractor (Kubota B6000e) with a little hoe on it, could lift big weight, but in thinking back, in relation to the size of the hoe its self, the weight seemed more. In other words the hoe was so small that most things looked really big when compared.

Still, that machine had about the same ripping power (maybe a little more) as my Kioti as the cylinder diameter was about the same.
