Backhoe buckets?

I have a Ford 757B backhoe, and I am looking for a 9" bucket for it. Ford no longer supplies this part, and I would prefer to find a used one anyway, but any tips on a new or used source for this would be appreciated. I already have a few friends keeping an eye open for it, and of course I am watching ebay and craigslist.

You will usually find it difficult to empty a 9" bucket, unless your digging in very dry, soft soil.

I have read about that problem, but I still want one. I am more concerned with how small my machine is. It will be easier to dig in taking smaller bites. I have had good luck with rented equipment with small buckets. If I run into a project requiring more moving dirt then making depth, I have 13 and 16 inch buckets I can use.

I have located a manufacturer and a distributor that seemed to know what I needed, $297. That price didn't seem bad, so I ordered it. We will see if it fits when it gets here.

all u need to do to beable for it to dump better is weld a chain to the tip of the bucket and to the dipper stick where when it is all the way extended the chain pulls tight and to will help pull the dirt out

Sometimes the chain(s) help, and sometimes they don't.

Nothing works every time, when your dealing with sticky, or mucky soil.

I was also thinking about the chain idea, but after much research I don't think it would work in my soil. A much better option would be a "clay bucket" if material is an issue.

Dwyleecoyote; another idea is find a good fabricator/welder I'm sure they could build what you need.
