Back pressure from oil dipstick???

New here, just wondering if anybody knows what would be causing the oil to bubble and spit out the dipstick when engine running??? Is it major??, and should I not buy this tractor (74' case 446)???

Unless it's something as simple as a plugged PCV valve --assuming it has one-- it could well indicate worn or broken rings, allowing head pressure to escape into the crankcase.

Sounds to me like the engine might be ready for an overhaul. Depending on price, it could still be worthwhile, assuming the rest of the tractor is in good shape. Might be worth it to have a compression check done.

Last time I checked my oil I failed to push the dipstick back in all the way and when I walked back to close the barn door I saw the trail of oil. I was lucky that I checked it in the barn because if it was in grass I would not have notice the small pool of oil.

I pushed the dipstick in all the way and had no further problems. My tractor is only has 100 hrs on it so I do not think it is any mechanical problem just the stick not being in all the way. You may want to check the seal at the top of your stick to make sure it is sealing properly.

some blowby is normal on most all engines.. the more blowby.. the more wear.

check to see if that model has a crank breather / oill fill..

Seeping, Bubbling, slobbering, or spraying can be seen. Some new cars you cannot remove the oil cap while running. I wanted to see if I had any vapor coming up from my ole toyota car.. I could not get the OIL cap,or &710 to some, back on fast enough, it has slinging effect on oil inside the valve cover..Some I have had in the past did not do that? Ya might not want to remove oil cap from 8n either, checking the screen..while warming it up?
