Me riding around on my Dad’s old rebuilt rear steer garden tractor in the late sixties.
He bought the old tractor in non-running condition and rebuilt the engine himself. As I recall it was a cast iron, magneto fired, rope started Wisconsin engine of around 8 HP.
The transmission was belt driven with three forward speeds and one reverse.
It came with several implements; a front mounted dirt blade, hay sickle, & reel type mower plus a rear mounted cultivator and turning plow.
When it was pulling hard and would lose traction the front drive wheels would start hopping off the ground, kind of scary. And if you turned the steering wheel all the way while moving at a good speed it would really give you a fast and fun spinning ride sitting back there above those rear steering wheels. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
Does anyone know who made this old tractor? I think they made a walk behind model but this was the deluxe rider version. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
I would give my Kubota to be this young and thin again.
