KiotiJohn,

Yes that is exactly what it does and should do, but now it just comes all the way out. When I have the pto running, it just slowly comes all the way out. Leaving nothing to keep it locked to the pto shaft. I thought that maybe it screwed in somehow, but there is nothing for it to connect to. So the problem is that it won't stay in place. I hope I am describing the problem well enough.

Here is a picture showing the problem. It just comes out. Not sure if there are plunger parts that can be replaced, or if I need to get the whole part that goes on the pto shaft and the pump. I am probably not using the right terminology, but hope that you understand what I am saying.

Jeff how old is you backhoe?
Have you contacted your dealer?

Hey Jeff.

Yes, you're doing an adequate job, and I do understand. There is probably a clip of some kind in side that has broken or bent enough to let the lock slip out.

Basically, if it's like most I've seen, it has a spring inside that pushes on something else, and allows the ball bearing that locks onto the shaft indention to retract and then extend.
You haven't had that backhoe long, so the pump and all the equipment that came with it should be under warranty.

Call your dealer and tell him/her what's going on, and you should be fixed up in short order.

Kioti John and Wallace Tractors,

Seems we (members of TBN) can always count on you to help with our issues.

John you are right, the backhoe is less than a year old.

For some reason I did not think about a warranty. Was only thinking about getting a small (hopefully) part fixed. Probably the reason I will never be rich!

I have contacted my dealer and will report on the fix.

Thank you both for your active participation on TBN.

That is twice the people on this board have saved me money! Once when I bought my tractor and now with getting something (small as it is) taken care of under warranty!

(Thinking about a song I like) I Love this board!

Insert "BAR" under normal circumstances. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Yup, just a short email/call to my dealer and the part is on the way.

Thanks again

Jeff

Well now isn't that great! That's just the reason we enjoy participating in this forum. It's a good feeling to know that we can help others with a problem, and that others are willing to help us.
It's kind of the same thing as having close friends on whom one can rely isn't it!!
Thank you for your kind words.
We're not always right, but our hearts are in the right place /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
