My new B7800HST was delivered yesterday and what a riot! Thankfully a have a foldable ROPS otherwise I wouldn't be able to park it in the garage! I'm having a soft sided Curtis cab with work lights on top installed in a couple of months and was wondering if anybody had the same set up? I'd like to know the height to the top of the cab and work lights. I need to install an overhead door in the back of my garage and was wondering if an 8' door height is sufficient.

I have the Curtis soft side cab on my BX2200. The cab is about 2 inches higher than the ROPS. The lights that are on the roof are about 4 inches above the roof. I know that I have a diferent tractor but I think that if you measure the height of the ROPS and add 6 inches that you will be close to a height for the cab and lights on your tractor. I hope that this helps you out.

You can never have a door that is too high. Doors come in 21" and 18" segments. Just figure out how high you can make it and then go for that dimension. I don't know of anyone that ever regretted a higher door, only a lower one. I was one of those people. I fixed it by removing the 7' door and installing a 10' door.. now there is no more bump in the night.... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

my 2910 just fits in my 7foot door with a curtis cab and lights. the cab is about 2 inches shorter then the standard rops. i mounted the lights unterneath the visor on the front of the cab so they are only 3/4 of an inch tall above the cab.

I agree with kokopelli2. I have a B2410 with Curtis soft side cab and a fixed ROPS. There is room for a short rotating beacon on top of the cab.
Your ROPS will be higher but the cab should not hinder you folding it up and down.

Thanks everyone! I really appreciate it! I wasn't aware that anything other than 1' foot increments were available for an overhead door. I might go with an 8.5' door. Thanks again for all the replies!

I have a B2910 which is the same as the B7800. I had a curtis soft sided cab installed and a Kabota front mount snow blower. If it were not for the foldable ROP's I could not get it into my garage. Ground to top of Curtis cab is 76 1/4" and with the ROP upright the measurement is 87 1/2". I bought a magnetic strobe light so I can remove it by unpluging a cigarette lighter connection and stick it on the side if I choose. I added a heater to the cab and live in Vermont where on a 0 degree day it helps. That cab is warm. Curtis did a super job and in the summer I take off the side doors and the rear panel and use it as a finish mower. Hope this helps. I like to keep my equipment inside. It helps them last longer and they aren't covered in snow when you need them. Good luck. Kenta

Thanks Kenta, Looks like an 8' door will work. I'll have work lights on the top of the cab but they shouldn't be any higher than the ROPS. I live in Maine and can't wait for the snow to fly /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif! Glad to read that you like your cab, mine will have a heater too. I'm thinking of installing a radio too. What size is your blower? I'm getting the 63" one.

Are your tires loaded? And are they the R-4's? That's what I have and it just occurred to me that mine will fit through my 7' door! The opening measures approx. 82" so it should fit with the cab on and the ROPS down! Looks like I just saved a bunch of money........and I didn't even have to switch my car insurance /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif! Thanks a lot Kenta! The top of my ROPS measures approx. 88 1/2".

Update. Got the Kubota back the day before Thanksgiving with the front mount blower and Curtis cab installed. It fit through the garage door! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Has about an inch and a half clearance, I am so glad I didn't have to install a bigger door! Now if it would only snow!
