Tractor
Kubota B7800
Before I got my B7800 I use to drive my 4x4 up my hillside to the trails in the back, buck my maple logs with my Husky chainsaw, fill up my wheelbarrow, wheel it to the truck and throw them in the back of the truck, drive back to my wood shed, get in the bed and throw the logs out to the ground. Then I would split them with my maul(s).

Now I drive my B7800 tractor up the same hill (or sometimes another trail going to the same areas) with my chainsaw/gas/water etc., on my new KK/ TSC carry-all. Then I pull the logs out with my long sling choker hooked to the tractor drawbar, cut the maple logs into 4 to 6 foot lenghts, Then I pick them up with the bucket/grapple as well as place them on the back carry-all and then bring them intact down to the wood shed where I buck and then split them. A whole lot easier, more efficient and so much cleaner for the logs. Some day when I am too old to swing the maul I will buy a 3 pt or gas wood splitter.

Here's how I spent my day-see pictures

What a treat to see such a terrific way to spend the day outdoors at the helm of a Kubota. Thanks for sharing.

Might you have a link for the KK/ TSC carry-all.

Many Thanks!

Wow, that's a hefty load of hardwood. Of course, we both know what a stout little tractor the B7800 is, and a real worksaver too!;)

Here you go Gardener - Tractor Supply Company - CARRY ALL

Also see the following TBN link for thoughts on how to make the most use of the nominal $117 investment.

The beauty of the carry-all for hauling logs is that when you lift it up with the 3 pt hitch it angles in such a way that none of the logs ever fall off. Also, as I had mentioned above your logs are not touching the ground so they are all clean. It saves on chainwear and sharpening.

Wow, thanks for sharing those pictures. Looks like the tractors helping you a lot. Did you really split all of that wood by hand when you got back? :D

Yes Grrrrr...I split 10/12 cords every year with my 6 & 8 mauls.

I really enjoy doing it and it's great exercise. I actually split wood in the winter (very easy as it's frozen) in a t-shirt when it's -10C or even colder.

That's a sweet setup you have there with that grapple.
I had been thinking about making myself a set of rear pallet forks... at that price though for the carry-all, not sure it would be worth the time & hassle. I would definitely want to make sure I got the 1,000-lb version, and perhaps reinforce it.

Very nice indeed. What brand of bucket grapple is that or did you make it yourself?

Excellent. Thank You. Great TBN thread. The modifications those guys made were very impressive. It seems like a must have attachment. I can picture countless items finding time on the Carry-All.

Most Appreciated!

For $117 at TSC the 1000 lb Farm Force or KK carry-all is a bargoon..so many uses. I am going back out to screw some of those big hooks (with the red rubber cover) onto the top wood panel. That way I can wrap my 20' sling choker, logging tongs and 15' chain on the hooks.

BTW, I bought two different sized logging tongs from NorthernTool but they are not good for dragging logs as they fall off. The sling choker works great-even for multiple logs. It's apparent why they are used on all skidders
