2015 KUBOTA B2650ROPS
I was at my Kubota dealer today and the service manager showed me a 2003 B7800 with 672 hours on it owned by a construction company. The transmission was split in half just forward of where the rear axle case bolts up to the middle section of the trans. He believes it was operator abuse with the backhoe. He said the same tractor was in a few months ago for an injector pump replacement due to the owner putting gasoline in the fuel tank. They handled it under warranty as a favor to the owner. Should be interesting to see how Kubota handles this one. Glad I'm not the dealer to take the heat on this one!!!!!!!!! /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Guess there is a difference between being an owner or just an operator......

Some dealers love to sell aftermarket hoes I'm guessing
there is more money that route. Twenty years ago I suffered
through some minor tractor damage and injury to myself from
their stupidity. (I wasn't stupid, just ignorant).

A local JD dealer loves these, I took a picture of a label
on one of them.

What is "heavy" use...digging?

If you want to save money get a used tractor, stop buying beer,
whatever, but get a factory frame mounted hoe. (My 2 cents)

I would not consider a B7800 to be heavy duty enough of a tractor for construction work.
A B21 or larger L35 would be a better choice.
I wonder what type of Backhoe tractor had on it.

DennisKeene,

Looks like you have found one of the elusive "3PH backhoe broke tractor in half" tractors!

Please keep us updated if you find out more about this. Was it a 3PH Kubota backhoe, or an aftermarket backhoe? Sub frame unit?

672 hours sure seems like a lot of hours for a tractor probably less than a year old. Especially since the tach driven hour meter [if it is the same as on my B2910] clocks an hour only at rated RPM. But it was commercial use and I guess that company used that thing morning, noon and night...

Sure would like to know more details... /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Is there anyway that we can get some pictures and some more details?

It was a Kubota factory backhow on the unit. I don't know what model. I don't have a digital camera to gather some pics. I will see if the service manager has an extra pic, as I'm sure they took plenty for Kubota. All I can say is it would take a lot of force to break the case in half!!! Yes, a larger tractor should have been purchased for this type of work. I'm not sure what type of construction work the company does. Obviously, to much for this combination.
