I am finally getting around to purchasing a tiller for my Kubota B7800. I have done some searching for the appropriate size however nothing yet. A few questions; do I go by my engine HP rating or my PTO rating? 30 engine and 22 PTO.

Tractor Supply has a 48" CountyLine Tiller for $1600 and a 60" for $1700. I'd like to get the larger tiller but I am not sure if my tractor can handle this. Any tips or suggestions greatly appreciated!!

By the way, I have a FEL and a mid mount belly mower. TIA!!!

Your B7800 should handle a 60" tiller; I do not know anything about MMM's except that they can compromise some ground clearance which could be a factor in tilling. Jay

I'd remove the MMM before you start any tilling. Even though the 7800 has good ground clearance you may need all of it when tilling.

I rented a 60" tiller this year, Fast work!!! OMG I loved that thing!

But I'm glad I didn't have a MMM on as with a backward rotating tiller digs in deep if you go over more than once you will be in deeper than a MMM would allow without getting you stuck (high centered) causing you to raise the Tiller, use the FEL to claw you out either forward or backward.

Don't ask how much experience I have getting "Un" stuck in my 7800. :D
