B7800 Seat Upgrade!

Went to one Kubota dealer and was quoted almost ~$300 for a replacement seat for my B7800 (bought it second hand and the original owner did not take advantage of the free seat replacement program). The first dealer I went to said the replacement program ran only a few months back in 2007. Decided to try another dealer up the road and got it for ~$160. What a difference that seat makes! It is my only solace during another bloody day on wall street! Glad I put my $ into buying my tractor. Atleast it is not depreciating as fast as the Dow!

Thanks for the heads up on this forum that a replacement seat was available for the B7800!!

I got the new seat today for $50 although I wasn't the original owner my dealer had a seat trade up program. I have the BX24, not sure if that makes a difference, anyhow, nice seat

Its nice to see there are still some good dealers out there!
Kubota Canada told me it was going to be $150. Dealer wouldn't go for that and charged me $283.
Guess what dealer didn't sell me:
5' Box blade
6" chipper
Tooth Bar
16' trailer
5' utiltiy trailer
etc.

It's amazing how much such a small thing (like a seat) makes such a big difference!

Bought mine off of Ebay for $60 + shipping...sold old seat for $30 plus shipping!! And, like it was said...what a difference a seat makes!!

Anyone got a picture of the old seat next to the new seat? I have no problems with the seat on my B7800, but I also don't know if it was upgraded. I may be missing out on an even more pleasurable tractoring experience.

(Actually, the only problem I had was the rails that hold the seat onto the tractor failed[metal fatiugue I guess] at around 500 hours and I had to replace them - approx. $70 total. No, I am not huge - 205 lbs- and neither was the guy I bought the tractor from)

The big thing with the bad seats is they were tilted forward so you felt like you were sliding out all the time.
New seat has no slope and is all round more comfortable. There are some pics on som e other threads about these seats.
