To all the B7800 owners out there, what other models did you compare it to before you bought? JD, NH, other?

Thanks

It has been a while but in the Kubota series I was looking at the BX, then moved up to the 7510, then zeroed in on the 2910, 2710 and 7800. After settling on this series I looked at the NH TC30 and JD 2000, or 4000 class, I forgot which one was the main apples-to-apples class HP size comparisons.

My main time was spent at the dealers lots 3 of them doing side by sides on the 2710,2910 and 7800. I ended up the the 7800 and my only regret is the turnbuckles on the 3pt hitch. Luck would have it that TBN listed a part for part replacement strategy for this, which I have yet to take advantage of.

I am guessing the 4210 Deere and TC30 NH are a couple of comparisons...also the TC29 NH Boomer.

Really only looked at two others outside the Kubota family. The TC30 and the JD 790. Also looked at the L3400 from Kubota. The two things that sold me were the price and the hydro trans. At the time (2 1/2 years ago) the only other one in this group that came with the hydro was the TC, but once you added that and 4WD it ran the price up more than I wanted to spend. The 790 and the L3400 didn't have a hydro trans available. Just finished doing the 300 hr. tune and so far the B7800 has worked out great! Definitely a good buy for the money.

The only thing I'd change would be the 1/4 inching valve. The position control valve is much less of a pain to use. Other than that, no complaints...well maybe a couple, but that's another post. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I'm starting a new thread, because I've made a decision on going with the L3400 (I think) rather than the B7800.

There you go - you've seen the light! :) I made the same decision. No doubt the 7800 is a nice machine. The L3400 was just a better bet for me.

What is this replacement for the 3 PT hitch you are talking about?

I only looked at JD, and based on similar features and attachments, the JD was about 6000 more. I have had my 7800 for 3 years now and have had no problems. The hydrostatic transmission is the way to go.
