Went to the local dealer today to check out the newer B3200 with FEL. While I was there talking to to sales people. They suggested that I also look at the B7800 with a FEL. They currently have both in stock. Both still boxed, not weather damaged. They felt that the 7800 series tractors had a better FEL setup since it had the better/heavier duty frame support. What are the thoughts between these 2 tractors? Which is the better deal for the money? Obviously the 3200 is higher priced. But is it worth the extra $1500 + over the 7800?

What are people getting the B7800 and the B3200's with a FEL out the door for. I just wanted to see if my quoted price was good or just a starting point.

I had a B7800 for 3 years and had/have a B3200 for one year. I just traded the B3200 with 40 hours to Barlows for a BX25 and they haven't picked it up yet. You can probably get it for less than a B7800. I can't recall any problem with the B7800 and it was a great machine but I did choose the B3200 over the B7800 when I went back to a B series. Since I trade alot or previously traded alot (I've stopped trading alot as of yesterday) I always consider resale or trading. I believe the resale in proportion to purchase price to be better on the B3200. Worst thing about the B7800 was trying to fill it with fuel because the bar for the FEL goes across the top of the fuel filler hole. Both are great machines. Check with Barlows to determine if you got a good price.

John - don't you mean as of tomorrow?
Because tomorrow never comes :)
Do I detect a bit of skepticism that I have stopped trading?:) I believe I really have. I think I have the right combo now..........course life events change and one needs to keep an open mind for future possibilities. Guess I better accept your description instead of mine. OK, here it is. "I have stopped trading as of tomorrow". That does look more realistic.:)

I would stay witht the B3200 between those two. The new loader is every bit as strong as the old one, and the controls are nicer. The B3200 will be much more in demand, and I think you will soon forget the price difference. I would however look at the B2630 since I understand some good deals can be had on them, and you would gain position control, and a much nicer 3pt hitch.

I had given up looking at the 2630 and the 3030, well the 3030 due to the high price. It was a little more that I could justify. What advantage does the 2630 have over the 3200? I thought the 3200 had more power than the what I thought to be the under powered 2630?

The price is reaaly what may be the end factor.

I don't think the 2630 is underpowered. I just think it gets overlooked. Depends what you want to do I guess. Tell us more about your lot size and what uses you intend for the tractor.

The advantages are as Chuck stated, position control and a nicer 3 pt setup (telescoping lower links w/ ratchet control).

If it were me I would get the B7800 and see how many implements I can squeeze into the price until it reaches the level of the B3200. If they are both brand new I don't see why pay the extra $ for something that will not do more. I bet the dealer is a lot more willing to negotiate on the B7800.
As I said if it was my choice.

If you find a B2630 I'm in agreement with Peterc38. The only time you would notice the fewer HP if you had to bushog or till a large area REGULARLY. Something like that. No loader work will ever show that it has a bit fewer ponies.

When I bought my b3200 the b3030 was very close in price. If you like the fancier 3pt you should check one out.
