Here's what I came up with for holding the 3pt hitch arms apart when backing up to an implement. I got 2 old pieces of fishing rod(1 piece wasn't stiff enough) and taped them together side by side with electrical tape, then put a small cable clamp on about 3/4" from each end. The ends fit into those 2 unused holes in the lift arms to spread them apart. There is enough of a bow in it to clear the draw bar when raising and lowering and it is springy enough that the lift arm can be moved in and out when sliding over the pin on the implement. As an added bonus there are 2 unused holes in the fenders just ahead of the taillights where it can be stored when not in use. I'm pretty sure something else would work like maybe an old lunge whip or a fibreglass pole out of a dome tent but I didn't have any of that stuff around to try.
