Any ideas about how deep of H2o I can run in? I keep playing around in the pond. Getting deeper and deeper, then I read about draining the clutch after washing. Are these things amphibious?

Err . . . no. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

I would be very careful if I were driving my new 16k tractor around a pond, much less in it.

Yeah I'd try to keep away from that pond. If you go in water deeper than the axles(over the vent) they'll get water in them and then you'll have to drain and replace the fluid. If you are below axle level you're fine but you could get into trouble real fast. You never know how soft the ground is beneath you when near ponds or lakes.

My guess is the true limiting factor is the height of the air intake.

That is if you are willing to drain the axles and so on to be sure you did not get water in the fluids when you took that dip.

The diesel will not quit when you get it under water...no spark plugs...no electrical ignition system...

Like indicated above, probably best to keep the water below the axle vents...But hey, it's your tractor....

Depends on how tall you are or how long you can hold your breathe. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Depends on how high your air intake is, so I'd guess about 4'.
Put your waders on and have a ball. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

When I first saw the title of your post "B7800 How deep will it go", the first thing that crossed my mind (before actually reading the post) was that you might be asking about how deep into your wallet will it go with regards to purchasing a B7800.

After reading your post, I see that it has nothing to do with purchasing a B7800, but the subject still may relate to how deep into your wallet the B7800 will go.

I am not expert by no means; I know that I would feel very uncomfortable with water above the axles.

Mag.
One thing to think about when going into water is how high up your breather caps for the trans, and differentials are .
When you hit the water , it's going to cool these items down right now . and ,you could wind up sucking up water into the trans and diff cases . That could have a pretty bad effect on the long term reliability of your machine . John

I would never run my 30K plus Kubota in any water over the axles. The ingestion of water into the axle cases due to the vacuum produced by the cooling effect of the water on the warm castings will compromise the oil in the axles and will eventually destroy the gears, bearings and seals.

Above and beyond that, any ingestion of water into a diesel engine will immediately destroy it. A diesel, due to it's high compression ratio will hydraulic lock with the introduction of water into the combustion chamber. At the very least, you will destroy the crankshaft, break a rod or ventilate the block.

After that, you might just as well leave the tractor in the pond. Sort of an underwater reef for fish to habitate in!!!
