I was considering buying an aftermarket backhoe for my B7800. Does this tractor require a subframe or will the 3 point hitch alone be enough support?

Do yourself and the tractor a favor and buy a Subframe mounted hoe. Either the Woods 7500 or Bradco 3375 would be a good choice. They are sturdier and easier to get on and off vs. a three point mount. Good Luck w/ your decision!

You'll get a lot of responses that subframe is better, and generally speaking, I think it is. However, keep in mind that the factory Kubota hoe (the only one that will provide any reasonable assurance of warranty coverage) is a 3 point mounted hoe. After considering that, it seems unlikely that the 3 point hoe is the certain death spiral for your tractor that many seem to think it is. If it was, it would seem Kubota wouldn't sell it configured that way.

While a B7800 does not require a subframe, if you get a subframe you will not regret it. My subframe mounted Woods 7500 backhoe goes on and off quickly and easily, and is much stronger than a 3PH mount. While you probably would not have a problem with a 3PH BH, if you ever did, it might well be a big problem.

Your Bio say you have a MMM. Most after market sub frames will interfere with MMM attachments.
Your profile also list a 7610 not a B7800. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
I have never installed a sub frame BH. But my BL4690 can be a pain if I don't follow an exact procedure. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

I own a B7800 and a Kubota 3ph backhoe. I have never had a problem with the hoe or the tractor beacuse of the 3ph hoe. I frequently (about once a week, or more) take the hoe on and off. It takes me about 12-15 minutes to put it on and about 8 to take it off. For the amount of implement changes, including the MMM once a week, the 3ph hoe was the correct decision for me.
Good luck! Paul
