B7800 alternator

Anybody know the output of the standard alternator on the 7800? I picked up a couple 55w lights the other day and was going to wire them in this weekend. Forgot to call the dealer to see if the alternator could handle the additional load.

The stock dynamo is actually 14.5 amps but what's another .5 amp.

There have been several other threads on installing an alternator for B and BX series tractors. The procedure is the same for most all of them.

BTW, you can leave the voltage regulator in place under the dash. It is a bear to get out. You do have to remove the wiring harness. Thats how my B2710 installation was done. Plan on 3-4 hours or so to do everything.

I have a B7800 I installed two work lights of the back, one of the top of the ROPs along withmy LED light bar I also went to 55 w bulbs for the head lights.....while the tractor was in for the 50hr service I had them install the altenator since the dynamo wasn't going to be able to handle it.....seemed like alot of work so I rather have them do since if they broke anything they fix it. I do know to find out the amps you divide the watts x volts I beleive to get your watts.the 3 work likes draw a total of 12-13 amps the light bar draws 4.5 and the head lights draw 4amps. So far no problems I can't wait for some heavy night time snow fall to go out and play ......I mean push snow.

Thanks, the lights are wired and ready to mount. Since a couple 55w bulbs should draw less than 10A I'm not going to worry about the alternator upgrade. The only other electrical draw should be the fuel solenoid so I should be OK.

The only purpose for the lights to to help when moving snow in the dark. I don't plan on using them year 'round, but if it turns out that way I'll be adding the upgraded alternator.
