B7800 1/4 inching valve vs. B2910 position control

I have discussed this with my local dealer. He only stocks the B7800, so I am not going to be able to drive the B2910 to compare. My concern is rear bucket/scraper control. Can anyone tell me how these two systems compare? Which one would be more precise? Any advantages, one over the other?

The position control is of course better than the 1/4" inching valve which is why the 1/4 inching valve is on the economy tractor. With that being said, I have the 7800 with the 1/4" inching valve and have not had any problems with it using my landscape rake or my boxblade. I kind of like the 1/4" inching valve. It is really easy to make adjustments bumping the handle to move it a 1/4" up or down.

I have a B2910 and have never tried the 1/4" on the B7800.

3PH position control allows you to set a stop and return the attachment to the same position every time the attachment is lowered. This can be important when using a Box Blade.

I would suggest that you try all tractors at your dealer with the different types of 3PH adjustments. Position control is on the L**30 line of tractors. BX and B74,5&6** series tractors have a different control than what has been discussed here.

Thank you both for the input. My dealer does have quite a stock of L3130's. I had not considered trying a larger model to check out the position control function. I'll drop by there today and give it a try.

To say probably the same thing as the others but a little differently...

My B2910 has position control and my BX2200 does not.

I have, it seems like many times, wished the BX had position control...

But I NEVER wished the B2910 didn't.

My guess is that the B7800's quarter inching valve is just a refinement of the kind of 3PH control that is on the BX. You hold the lever and release when you are where you think you want to be.

I like the postion control a lot more than the standard (if that is what you call it) 3PH control.

That's just me though...
