On the way home I went back and test road a B7610 and then the B7800 for the second time. I like the additional power of the B7800 and figure it is the step above what I need and won't out grow. But this time I ran both machines wih the engines running so the PTO would be running at 540 rpm. I was surpised that the B7800 buzzed quite a bit. It is a 4 cylinder and I figured better balanced but it made the B7610 feel rather smooth. The B7800 vibrated so much I am afraid my hands, feet and back side would get numb and fall asleep.

Has anyone noticed this? Will it smooth out any on break-in. The machine had 4 hours of which I know I put and hour. I plan to go back tomorrow and try it with a mower deck attached to see of any load will calm it down.

Mike

If only I could arrange a one day test drive at home once a month. But that's called a rental.

While I have - on rare occassions - run my B7610 at "Full PTO" speed (@ 2600 rpm I.I.R.C.) - I'm usually in the 1800 - 2000 rpm range for FEL work / zipping around from place to place on my property.

While I do go up to @ 2200 - 2300 rpm for mowing (MMM) - I also feel my B7610 gets a bit buzzy at full speed - so I just turn it back a notch. I also snowblow at @ 2200-2300 rpms for the same reason.

I would say that this "buzziness" at rated PTO speed has not diminished / smoothed out with time. However - you may want to try the unit with an implement attached - maybe the inertia / *load* of the attachment will modify the sound / vibration some?

I'm trying to remember - but it does seem like my B7610 is "smoother" when running the MMM @ 2200 rpms than without - but if it is - then it's still fairly subtle.

Hope that helps,

Dan

I like your Web site. Great action shots showing how tuff the B7610 can work. On the vibration I felt the B7610 was smooth compared to the B7800. All I neeeed is the B7610 but the B7800 follows the get the next size up philosophy.

If you don't feel comfortable on it, DO NOT get it.

Take samller bites on your job, or scale your project back. No sense in hurting yourself, the machine is suppose to make your work chores easier and "enjoyable".

I run my B7800 at 540 PTO RPMS for hours, cutting feilds. I suffer hearing loss and heat stroke, but I don't suffer from v i b r a t i o n
s i c k neessssss...... No really, seriously.

I tried the B7800 with a 5 ft Land Pride RFM. Then road the B7610. Went back and forth a few time. Just the weight on the B7800 helped. Plus back to back the B7800 is just a little higher frequency. Like them both. 1 inch more leg room with the B7800 so the pendulum swings toward 30 hp. So is 6 extra hp worth $2k.

2k can buy another attachment......
I ran a 6 (six) foot RFM with my B7800 and a 5 (five) foot Woods Brushcutter.

So, is the extra foot going to save you time?

Good luck. You won't look back and say I wish if your upsizing, I did the same....

Be comfortable!

This subject has come up before. I seem to recall some fix Kubota had but it seems the B7800 still out vibrates the 7610. If your mowing you will probably be at PTO speed a lot.

After reviewing the information and our needs a mutual agreement was reached with the CEO and it looks like the B7610 will be the way to go. In the long run, say 6 to 8 years from now when we move, the B7800 may be needed and the bucket reach is tempting and it goes against the bigger is better principle but the B7610 will work.

The only question is about pulling a 60" Land Pride rear discharge mower (FDR1660 weight 497 lbs). The Kubota literature listes a 60" and 72" rear mower but these are Kubota units and may weigh less. Looks like one more test ride of a B7610 with the mower on the back. In the long run if the grass gets deep I'll just have to get a bush hog.

Time to search the forum.

I have a B2410 (deluxe version of the 7610) and I pull a rear discharge 60" LandPride mower with it. There is no issue at all with that combo. Even though I have a lot of hills, I am convinced I could have gone to a 72" with no problem. The 500 lb mower is no issue on that tractor.
